Disability Royal Commission update
Posted December 21, 2021
The Disability Royal Commission (DRC) is looking into violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation of people living with disability.
The DRC has:
- • recently held hearings about why employment is low for people with disability
- • planned hearings in Hobart in early 2022 about the experience of women and girls with disability,
- • released a report on why students with disability face serious barriers to accessing inclusive education.
especially around family, domestic and sexual violence
The DRC is still interested in hearing from people with disability, their families, carers and supporters. You can share stories about your experiences and ideas about what changes we need.
You can now get in touch with the DRC by sending them a text on 0459 906 629. You can ask them any question.
